Designed and developed by us

Every POSOMAT device is our own development. We design the hardware, develop the software and take each device from the first sketch to the finished product. That way every detail fits, and we can adapt your device to your brand and your use case.

  1. Concept

    We develop the idea from what our clients need: location, audience, design and function. Many sketches turn into 3D models and prototypes, which we use to test form and ease of use in detail.

  2. CAD planning

    We plan housings, components and dimensions precisely in CAD before the first part is made. That way every detail fits, from the camera and the screen to the photo printer inside the housing.

  3. Manufacturing

    We build the devices to our own plans, with robust technology and our own 3D printed parts. A device only goes into use once it reliably stands up to continuous professional operation.

  4. Hardware and software

    We tune camera, printer and lighting to our own software. It includes photo booth software, applications for the POSOMAT X5000 and POSOMAT Magic Move, our interaction layer for Unreal Engine 5.

Our own 3D printed components

We develop some components of our devices ourselves and produce them on our own 3D printers.

POSOMAT ring flash

We developed the ring flash of the POSOMAT L3000 ourselves and 3D printed it. Its interactive RGB LED lighting is computer controlled.

POSOMAT modules

We also design further modules for our devices ourselves and print them on our own 3D printers. That way they fit the housing and technology exactly.

In house 3D printing

Our own 3D printing produces prototypes and components. That lets us turn new ideas into reality quickly and test them directly on the device.

Built from practice, not from the drawing board

Carola Stober worked as a wedding photographer for many years. None of the photo booths she saw at events or could buy convinced her in terms of design, image quality or ease of use. So we developed our own, with many sketches, 3D models and prototypes.

POSOMAT L3000

The POSOMAT L3000 is the all in one design photo booth for large events and trade fairs. Photo printer, PC, DSLR camera, 24 inch touchscreen, side RGB LEDs and our own 3D printed RGB LED ring flash are built into the housing, with just one power cable to the outside. Standing 170 cm tall, the POSOMAT L3000 is an eye catcher.

The POSOMAT S1000 is a design photo booth on a stainless steel stand. It takes high quality photos and can be combined with the DS3000 print station when needed. At 160 cm tall and with side RGB LED strips, it stands out immediately, even at smaller events.

POSOMAT X5000

The POSOMAT X5000 is an interactive terminal for trade fairs, exhibitions and events. At the top, a touchscreen for websites, online shops, product catalogues, interactive maps, presentations, prize draws, mini games and customer feedback; below, a second display for images, videos, advertising, social walls, news or weather. Slim white housing, side RGB LED strips and free surfaces front and back for your branding.

Hashtag Printer

Guests post a photo with your event hashtag on their public Instagram account. The POSOMAT X5000 detects the post automatically and shows it on the touchscreen, and with the DS3000 print station the guest prints the picture on the spot, finished with your logo and your message. No app, no sign up.

Interactive mood barometer and visitor counter: whoever walks through casts a vote. Several people are detected at once, including their direction, four displays show content of your choice, and the results appear in real time on the web, in an app or on the POSOMAT X5000.

About us

Carola & Jens Stober

The artist couple behind POSOMAT.

POSOMAT stands for interactive media art and creative technologies. The brand was founded by the artist couple Carola Stober and Dr. Jens M. Stober (ELORX). Both are graduate media artists (Diplom) of the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design (HfG) and the ZKM | Center for Art and Media.

Their work has been shown internationally, including at ZKM Karlsruhe, the MIT Game Lab (USA), the Nam June Paik Art Center (South Korea), the Boston Cyberarts Gallery, Kult Gallery Singapore, ART Karlsruhe, LEARNTEC and gamescom in Cologne.

Carola’s eye for design and photography and Jens’ technical experience with interactive installations led to the POSOMAT L3000: a photo booth with high photographic quality, clear design and reliable technology for professional use, developed by media artists for real experiences.

Media artist, photographer, designer and co-founder of POSOMAT. Further training in digital music production (SGD), web design (IHK) and phytotherapy (SGD Darmstadt).

Dr. Jens M. Stober

Combines artistic research with interactive experiences in game design, VR and hacking. PhD at RMIT University (Australia) on hacking as an artistic strategy; development of a BCI based VR installation.

What is POSOMAT?

POSOMAT is a brand of Cloudwalker GmbH. Under the POSOMAT name, media artists Carola Stober and Dr. Jens M. Stober have been developing design photo booths and interactive installations since 2015. On posomat.com we offer these devices for sale to businesses.

Who are the devices for?

For companies and brands, agencies, event organisers, trade fairs, museums and cultural institutions, leisure parks and family entertainment centres as well as retailers and shopping centres.

What do the devices cost?

All prices are available on request. Select the product you are interested in using the inquiry form, and we will send you a quote.

Is there an online shop?

The shop is being set up and will be available soon. Until then, all orders are handled via the inquiry form or by email to hello@posomat.com.

Which print formats are available?

The built in photo printer of the POSOMAT L3000 prints 10 × 15, 15 × 15, 13 × 18 and 15 × 20 cm as well as 5 × 15 cm photo strips, matte or glossy, at 300 or 600 dpi. A print is ready after about 7 seconds. Depending on the format, 400 or 700 prints (10 × 15 cm) are possible in a row.

Does the POSOMAT S1000 work without a printer?

Yes. The POSOMAT S1000 works as a pure photo booth, and guests get their pictures on their phones via QR code. For instant prints, it can be combined with the DS3000 print station.

What can the POSOMAT X5000 do?

The POSOMAT X5000 is a multifunction terminal with two 27 inch screens, the top one a touchscreen. It works, for example, as a Hashtag Printer with the DS3000 print station, as a social wall, info kiosk, photo booth, AR station or for neurogames such as Ride Your Mind: Blossoms.

Which components does POSOMAT develop itself?

Besides hardware and software, we develop our own components, such as the 3D printed ring flash of the POSOMAT L3000 with interactive, computer controlled RGB LED lighting. We also produce further POSOMAT modules on our own 3D printers.

What does a photo booth need on site?

A standard power socket, a LAN cable or an internet connection and a level surface. All devices are plug and play.

Can the devices be adapted to our brand?

Yes. Options include wrapping or stickers on the device, a screen design in your corporate design, print layouts with logo, colours, slogan or hashtag, and a background with your motif.

Is the AR Tuk Tuk a series product?

No. The AR Tuk Tuk is a one of a kind piece and a media artwork. If you are interested, please contact us directly.

Does Bashball include an LED wall?

No. The scope of delivery includes camera, computer and software. You or your technical partner provide the LED wall or projection. More on the Bashball page.
